The Story

Our story begins in a beautiful futuristic Chinese city of glass and steel in the year 2144. Every night Qing Shan enjoys sitting at her Grandpa Han’s silk loom and asking him to weave and sing a story. Tonight, Qing Shan begs for a story about dragons! Grandpa Han is reluctant, but finally agrees. He begins to weave and sing a tale about his own childhood in the year 2000. Han was a shy child bullied by neighbor boys. As a boy, they called him “Baby Silkworm” and were cruel to him. Since he had no friends, he often would talk to imaginary friends. One night an imaginary friend talks back!

我们的故事始于2144年的一个美丽的未来中国城市，它是个玻璃和钢铁组成的城市。每天晚上，青山都喜欢坐在他的汉爷爷的丝织机上，请他说个故事，边讲边唱。今晚，青山恳求爷爷讲一个关于龙的故事！汉爷爷很不情愿，但终于同意了。他开始边讲边唱2000年时一个关于他自己童年的故事。小时候，汉是一个害羞的孩子，因此会被邻居男孩欺负。孩提时代，他们称他为“蚕宝宝”，并且对他很野蛮。由于他没有朋友，他经常会和想象中的朋友交谈。一天晚上，一个假想中的朋友和他说起话来！

When the invisible friend steals Baby Silkworm’s evening snack, he captures the thief! He learns the thief’s name is Ka-An, the son of alien Admiral Ka, who is planning to conquer Earth and “harvest” its riches of stories, songs and traditions into his collection.

当一个隐形朋友偷走了蚕宝宝的晚间点心时，他抓住了这个小偷！他得知小偷的名字是Ka-An，他是外星人将军Ka 的儿子，他正计划征服地球，并将其丰富的故事、歌曲和传统统统作为“战利品”，加入到他的收藏中。

Evil Admiral Ka and his brother Ra are in a contest to see who can conquer 12 planets first and ascend to the throne as ruler of the galaxies. Admiral Ka has already conquered 11 worlds, imprisoning their sages and collecting all of their ancient stories, songs, art and monuments. He shrinks these prizes into jewels and wears them as trophies around his neck.

邪恶的将军Ka和他的兄弟Ra正开始一场比赛，看谁能先征服12颗行星，并作为星系的统治者登上王位。将军Ka已经征服了11个世界(行星)，囚禁了他们的圣人并收集他们所有的古代故事、歌曲、艺术和纪念碑。他将这些战利品收缩成珠宝，并将它们作为小奖杯戴在脖子上。

Admiral Ka only needs one more conquest - the pale blue watery planet Earth - to beat his brother to the throne. Ka has saved Earth for last, because the judges who will crown him king are an ancient race of shape-shifting water owls called the Wowels. Admiral Ka believes that by presenting Earth to them, they will unanimously give him the throne. As Master Han spins his story, a giant black hole that looks like a watery eye opens in space. The Wowels, frozen in blocks of black shimmering ice, beam aboard Ka’s dragon ship to observe the “harvest” of the planet and prepare for Ka’s coronation.

Young Ka-An has been sent to earth as a spy to bring his father information on the richest of the ancient cultures for his harvest. Ka-An visited all of the civilizations on earth over the last three years and has decided that Chinese culture is the oldest and the culture must be harvested first and erased from all memories, then the Earth can be conquered!

年轻的Ka-An作为间谍被派往地球，为他的父亲采集关于最丰厚的古代文化的信息，供其收藏。过去三年来，Ka-An遍访地球上的所有文明，并决定中国文化是最古老且最优秀的文化。因此，必须首先缴获中国文化并从所有人记忆中抹去，然后才能征服这个地球！

Baby Silkworm was an orphan on the streets when he was adopted as an apprentice to another silk-weaving story teller, Master Han. During his spy mission, Ka-An has fallen in love with Master Han’s songs, stories, weaving and... cooking. He often sits window of Master Han’s traditional home, enjoying evenings of ancient stories, wisdom and songs. He also often steals left-over food. He especially loves Chinese tofu and thinks it is the best in the universe!

蚕宝宝是街上的一名孤儿，就在那时，他被汉大师收养为学徒，汉大师不仅会织丝，还是个讲故事好手。在Ka-An执行间谍任务中，他爱上了汉大师的歌曲、故事、编织和烹饪。他经常隐藏在汉大师传统家园的窗户边，享受有着古老故事、智慧和歌曲的夜晚。他还经常偷走剩下的食物。他特别喜欢中国豆腐，并认为它是宇宙中最好吃的！

Ka-An’s mother died years ago, and his Admiral father is too busy conquering worlds to spend much time with him. He has no time for stories, songs and play with his son.

Ka-An的母亲多年前去世了，他的将军父亲忙于征服世界，无暇与他共度时光。他没有时间和他的儿子一起讲故事、唱歌或父子玩耍。

When Baby Silkworm befriends Ka-An and finds out about the plot to conquer Earth, he tries to convince the alien boy to stop the invasion. While Ka-An is away on earth, Admiral Ka’s brother, Ra, uses trickery to steal Ka’s 11 planets. He speeds up his plans to harvest Earth, capturing all of the ancient songs, stories and art, beaming them up to his Dragon Ship to be shrunk into his 12th jewel on his necklace. He plans to replace all of the ancient stories, treasures and songs on earth with monuments and songs to himself. The only stories the enslaved children of Earth will know will be stories of Ra’s conquests and songs of his power. He will erase all of Earth’s cultural riches and memories, because “if they lose their stories, they will not lose their past. They will lose their future!”

当蚕宝宝与Ka-An交朋友并发现征服地球的阴谋时，他试图说服外星男孩阻止入侵。当Ka-An离开地球时，将军Ka的兄弟Ra使用诡计窃取Ka的11个行星，加速了他收复地球的计划。Ra开始收缴所有古老的歌曲、故事和艺术，将它们放到他的船上，以便缩小后制成他项链上的第12颗宝石。他计划用自己的纪念碑和歌曲来取代地球上所有的古代文化瑰宝和歌曲。被抓为奴役的地球儿童将会知道的唯一故事，将是Ra的征服故事和的权力歌曲。他将抹去地球上所有的文化财富和记忆，因为“如果他们失去了故事，他们不会失去过去，他们将失去未来！”

Believing hope is lost, Master Han trains 12 disciples, imbedding the ancient Chinese stories and songs into their minds. He sends them out into the countryside to be hidden away until the danger has passed. Maybe one day they will return and restore the ancient stories of China to the people? Through Ra’s deceit and trickery, Master Han and all of his disciples are captured and taken to the Dragon Ship to have their memories and songs erased, one by one, with a mind-erasing machine.

汉大师开始培养12名门徒，将中国古代的故事和歌曲融入他们的脑海中。他将把他们送到乡下去躲起来，直到危险过去。也许有一天他们会再回来，并将中国的古老故事归还给人民？汉大师和他的所有门徒因为遭受诡计的欺骗，一一被逮住，他们被带到一艘龙船上，在那里有一台洗脑机连接他们的大脑，将他们的记忆和歌曲一个接一个删除。

Is this the end for Earth? Is this the end of the beautiful Chinese culture? Will someone save the planet from this evil conquest? Or will Ra and his sinister forces destroy Earth’s ancient history and wisdom forever?
